itWORKS.OHIO Conference 2007 The 6th Annual Ohio Information Technology Educator Conference will be held April 18-19, 2007. The theme for this year's conference is Improving Ohio’s IT Education.
Topics to be addressed include “Women in IT,” “The IT Business Process,” “Statewide Articulation—The Ct2 Process and Network Systems,” “IT Webxam Assessments (with an opportunity to view the tests),” “Inquiry-based Instruction in IT” and much more! Conference Location and Schedule: Tuesday, April 19, 2007 Hyatt Regency Columbus, 350 North High Street Columbus, Ohio 43215 Conference Registration: The Conference registration fee including the conference morning break and lunch is $60.00 per person. Registration for the pre-conference session is $10.00 for those registered for the conference and $20.00 for those registering for the pre-conference only. An additional fee of $10.00 is being charged to those registered for the conference workshops. Registration deadline: April 11, 2007. Conference Workshops: Thanks to Michael Turner, Taft High School and IT@Sinclair, this year’s conference will feature two separate computer labs! Three hands-on workshops will be held during the conference. Topics include: “FinalCut Pro” and “Office 2007”. Space is limited—register early to reserve a place in a workshop! Why? itWORKS.OHIO Conference 2007 is the only statewide conference in Ohio to bring together secondary and post-secondary educators involved in the development and implementation of programs in Interactive Media, Information Support and Services, Programming and Software Development, and Communication Network Systems. Last year’s conference drew over 150 participants from across Ohio with a similar number expected this year.
Conference Goal: The goal of the itWORKS.OHIO Conference 2007 is to improve Ohio’s IT education by providing a statewide forum for Ohio IT secondary and post-secondary educators and their business and community partners to exchange experiences, knowledge and expertise.
